Driving Into a Storm

Every wave turning me away

But I fought the tide to fall to pieces

The divination of hearts unwrapped

The accord of an east coast hurricane.

I covered to uncover my innocence

Tucked away in the sand.

Why did it feel like you led me

to my own homeland?

You were the signal in the sky

Dangerous indications

A painting of the age old story

Faced with tragic lightning.

Coldest morning in August

“Here Comes the Sun” as I let you go

But I held onto the flame

My eyes, stuck on moments I have visited a million times over

I know them so well, so well.
