Dude, summer is officially here. There’s something humbling about living in the northeast and only experiencing beach weather for one season. Whether you’re working or not, it’s like a four month “vacation”, and it hits you every time you step outside. The parks are filled with the sounds of baseball games, ice cream trucks, and birds chirping. The beaches are packed, people are tanning, and the cool waves are tempting you, creeping up on the hot sand.
No matter how downhill the end of your semester was, you can’t avoid the joy in the atmosphere and the very promise of summertime freedom waving in the air.
Every summer, there are a few songs that define the moments. Hearing them in the winter seems out of place, and the people who once danced to them with you are no longer around. Gone is the smell of the campfire, or the comfortable breeze in the air. Gone is the feeling in your bones, but you can still feel it in the song.
